Hello my name is David I'm from Maryville Tennessee. I notice a few names here from the KRE forum. I post from time to time there but mainly just read the topics. I have kept reptiles since a young child but have just decided to try my luck with breeding them last year. I have 28 corn snakes, 4 rat snakes, Pair of sand boas and a small colony of 4 Leopard geckos. As of right now I have a few eggs from my leo's in the incubator and two girls fixen to lay any day now. And I have only 8 snakes cooled ...

What are the pros and cons of using sand as a substrate on the bottom of an aquatic turtle tank? I used to have gravel but am wanting to change it to sand! If it helps...I have 2 red ear sliders, a mississippi map turtle, a florida yellow belly, and a painted turtle. The painted turtle is in another tank and will not be getting any sand, but the other 4 turtles are together in the same tank, which I'm wanting to put sand in.

I only know of two reptile shows in Kentucky (Morehead and Shelbyville) I don't know if there are more, but I was wondering if there were any shows in the area that were worth the trip. I've heard people talking of going to some huge reptile shows with a huge variety of animals! Let me know of any show you think is worth it!!
